As I reflect on my 21 years at South Axholme Academy, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. It has been an honour to serve this incredible school community, and I want to extend my deepest thanks to our parents, carers, students, and staff for your unwavering support throughout my time here. South Axholme Academy is a truly special place. Together, we have built one of the highest performing secondary schools in Yorkshire and the Humber. Our consistently outstanding attendance - currently the highest in the Local Education Authority - and our long-standing oversubscription are powerful testaments to the strength of our partnership. This success is not achieved in isolation; it is the result of a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, engaged students, supportive families, and a vibrant local community. The memories I take with me are countless and cherished. From classroom triumphs to whole-school celebrations, every moment has reinforced what makes South Axholme Academy exceptional. I am incredibly proud of the work we have done together and the legacy we continue to build. As I pass the baton to Mrs Hamilton, I do so with full confidence in her leadership and vision. I know she will continue to guide the Academy with the same passion and dedication that has defined our journey so far. Thank you once again for making South Axholme Academy the remarkable place it is. It has been a privilege to be part of this story. Warm regards, Scott Barlow, Principal |
As we reach the end of another academic year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our families, staff, governors, and wider community partners for your continued support and commitment. Together, we’ve nurtured vibrant learning environments where children thrive, and that is something to be truly proud of. This summer, we say goodbye to several valued colleagues who are moving on to new chapters in their careers or well-earned retirement. Your dedication has left a lasting legacy, and we wish you every success and happiness in the future. You will always be part of the Isle Education Trust family. I’m also delighted to share a significant milestone in our journey. On 1 July 2025, our Trust grew from three schools to six, as Alkborough Primary Academy, Kirton Lindsey Primary Academy, and Burton upon Stather Primary Academy officially joined us. Each brings its own rich heritage and community spirit, and we are excited to walk forward together—sharing expertise, strengthening collaboration, and ensuring every child receives the very best education. As we look ahead to a new academic year, I hope the summer break brings rest, joy, and time with loved ones. Thank you for being part of our story. Warm regards, Sarah Sprack CEO Isle Education Trust |

Care Into The FutureWe were delighted to offer students a chance to visit Doncaster Dome on 4 July 2025, where the Year 8 students had the opportunity to attend the 'We Care Into the Future' event. This visit provided them with an insightful look into careers within the health and care sector.

Academy Update - Teaching and Learning |
|
Home Learning - Satchel OneAt South Axholme Academy, home learning is an essential part of school life as it supports the curriculum, subject interests and develops core skills such as organisation and independent learning. Research from the Education Endowment Foundation shows that ‘the impact of homework on learning is consistently positive leading to on average five months’ additional progress.’ To help support students, all home learning at South Axholme is set on a platform called Satchel One. We have successfully used this platform for a number of years , and ithas proved to be very successful, allowing parents/carers to keep track of their child's homework. As we embrace an increasingly digital approach to work, this provides an up-to-date way of working for all of our community. Please encourage your child to download the Satchel One app onto their devices. Students can also access Satchel One via any computer if they are unable to download the app. If you have not yet got your parent information to enable you to access Satchel One to support your child at home, please contact the academy. We thank parents and students for their cooperation with this. |

For a reminder about how parents and students can log into satchel one, please see the link to the website here. |

If your child is on the SEND register, there will be an opportunity to review their support plan at your child's parents' evening. If you would like an additional review meeting with the SENCO, please contact our admin team who will be able to arrange this for you. If you have any queries or concerns relating to SEND, please contact the SEND team in school. You can do this using our dedicated email address: send@southaxholme-iet.co.uk Please note that we currently have a waiting list for submitting new referrals for neurodiversity assessment. This process typically takes at least a full academic term to gather sufficient evidence in order to submit a robust referral. Fidget tools: If your child has an identified need for a fidget tool on their SEND support plan, please note that the only ones allowed in school are the silicone pebbles. All other fidgets toys will be confiscated and returned at the end of the school day. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sensory-Fidget-Toys-Textured-Classroom/dp/B0DJVPQ1D4/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=170OWT0W68RR3&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Pc8SDWlCA2gbUsFj_3uuWhclgXlNZO5v_gr1Xexj98yVnOVr2o5xwkMuNWh6-9f8a7CuidKaSxSoiikRAjQSqVfNn2BO0ckahutNiX0RNeSC2IFP-HXbNcFGZnEsu_V51LXUbcz4RjpsM5pueDqHxElj-2-HJCAzwiQdGN10RI927Vo6QYLorqBEzDroVdBUD17KE3FtezxDWkZ3Llvv0CxYMqMKbnOXPMvZWD6FltBBFwiVeE8dLTk5Y_B4vmuJIAbplA08dhuOwhstUa_mMyh_ABub43U57gZG6auCQ0c.uPiqk3CkW4qoS-gE0IJFUysBThLlIsRHRgZ9d9ywI4Q&dib_tag=se&keywords=worry%2Bpebbles&qid=1743088429&sprefix=worry%2Bpebbles%2Caps%2C85&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1
