South Axholme Academy - Year 6 Open Evening, Thursday 18 September 2025 -  5.30pm - 8.00pm 

 

As you begin to consider which secondary school would be the best fit for your child starting in September 2026, I am delighted to invite you to South Axholme Academy’s Year 6 Open Evening on Thursday, 18 September 2025.  

 

As the new Principal, I am incredibly excited to meet prospective students and parents, and to share with you the vibrant, welcoming community we have here at South Axholme Academy. This special evening will provide a fantastic opportunity to explore our academy, meet our passionate staff and wonderful students, and get a true sense of the array of opportunities we have available. 

 

South Axholme Academy proudly serves students from across the Isle of Axholme, Doncaster, and North Nottinghamshire. We are delighted by our students’ achievements, having secured another outstanding set of GCSE results this year. For seven consecutive years, we have been oversubscribed, receiving over 190 applications for Year 7 places. Our academy enjoys a strong reputation locally and beyond for outstanding academic, vocational, sporting, and cultural accomplishments. Beyond the classroom, students benefit from an exceptional extra-curricular programme designed to engage all interests and talents. 

 

We are holding two events on Thursday 18 September, and we are kindly asking parents to arrive at the time which is linked to their area/primary school to help us manage number effectively (see below). Parents of children in Year 5 are also welcome to the event should they wish to attend.  

Following the presentations, you and your child will have the chance to tour our facilities, see students actively involved in learning, and even join in some activities! Members of staff, myself, and the Senior Leadership Team will be available throughout the evening to answer your questions and discuss any aspects of our academy.

Please note we expect to be extremely busy on the evening with car parking spaces limited. Our staggered event will help with this and numbers of people on site. Please only attend at the time slot for your designated primary school.  It is not necessary to book this event.

The deadline for applications for secondary school places and to indicate South Axholme Academy as your first choice is 31 October 2025.
