As parents/carers of children in Year 6, you will be thinking about which secondary school you would like them to go to in September 2023.  At South Axholme Academy, we are holding our  
Year 6 Open Evening on Thursday 22 September 2022.  

During this evening you will have the opportunity to look around our academy and meet our amazing students and staff.  The Academy serves students not only from the Isle of Axholme but Doncaster and North Nottinghamshire.  

South Axholme Academy is the number one school in the area, according to the 'Good Schools Guide,' and we have been oversubscribed for the last five years with over 220 applicants for Year 7 places.  We have an excellent reputation locally and further afield for the achievements of our students whether academic, vocational, sporting or cultural. Students also benefit from an outstanding programme of extra-curricular activities that cater for all interests and abilities. 

We are holding three events on Thursday 22 September, and we are asking parents to arrive at the time which is linked to their area/primary school to avoid overcrowding. Parents of children in Year 5 are also welcome to the event should they wish to attend.  

The deadline for applications for secondary school places and to indicate South Axholme Academy as your first choice is 31 October 2022.  North Lincolnshire Local Authority deal with all admissions for the Academy, and they will be able to answer any questions or queries.

Please note we expect to be extremely busy on the evening with car parking spaces limited. Our staggered event will help with this and numbers of people on site. Please only attend at the time slot for your designated primary school. 

Should you be unable to make the event we have a further ‘in school’ open morning/afternoon.

After the meeting on Thursday 22 September, you and your child will have an opportunity to tour our academy, look at the facilities we have to offer, observe students engaging in a variety of learning activities and in some cases join in!  In addition, members of staff will be on hand to talk to as well as myself and members of the Senior Leadership Team.
