We are delighted that you are considering South Axholme Academy for your child's secondary education.

South Axholme Academy is its own admissions authority but commissions North Lincolnshire Council to administer admissions on its behalf. All applications are therefore processed in accordance with the School Admissions Code and the Academy's published Admissions Policy.

Applying for a Year 7 Place

Applications for Year 7 entry each September should be made through North Lincolnshire Council as part of the coordinated admissions process.

The Local Authority will notify parents and carers of the outcome of their application on the Academy's behalf on the national offer day. Where an application is unsuccessful, the Local Authority will provide the reason for refusal, together with information about the appeals process. The Local Authority also maintains the Academy's waiting lists.

The Academy's Published Admission Number (PAN) is 180 students in each year group. In exceptional circumstances, the Principal may agree to admit students above PAN where this is considered appropriate, taking into account the capacity of the year group and the resources available to ensure all students continue to receive a high-quality education.

Year 6 Open Evening

Choosing the right secondary school is an important decision and we warmly encourage prospective families to visit us.

Each autumn we hold our annual Year 6 Open Evening, where families have the opportunity to tour the Academy, meet our staff and students, hear from the Principal and experience what makes South Axholme Academy such a special place to learn.

We also offer a number of Academy Tours throughout September and October, providing families with the opportunity to see the Academy during a normal school day. Tours are by appointment only.

In year admissions

Applications for places during the academic year should also be made through North Lincolnshire Council, who administer admissions on the Academy's behalf.

If you are considering transferring your child to South Axholme Academy, we would be pleased to arrange a visit before you submit your application. Please contact the Academy Office to arrange an appointment.

Appeals

If your application for a place at South Axholme Academy is unsuccessful, you have the right to appeal the decision through the independent appeals process administered by North Lincolnshire Council. Details of how to submit an appeal will be provided by the Local Authority if a place is not offered.
