What’s On Offer
Students have access to a broad and varied programme of activities, including:
- Sports clubs and fixtures, including team competitions and tours
- Creative and performing arts, including theatre visits and productions
- STEM activities and competitions, linked to real-world careers
- Trips and visits, including cultural, educational and international experiences
- Subject-based enrichment, designed to deepen learning beyond the classroom
Recent opportunities have included:
- Theatre visits to productions such as Legally Blonde
- STEM conferences and workshops with external providers
- Competitions such as the Ecopreneurs Challenge, where students competed against other schools
- Educational visits, including cultural trips and themed workshops
- International visits and residential experiences
These opportunities are carefully designed to broaden students’ experiences and build cultural capital.
Key Enrichment Opportunities
Throughout the year, students also take part in a number of structured enrichment experiences, including:
- Mindset Days, focusing on careers, personal development, wellbeing and citizenship
- Employer engagement events, including talks and workshops from industry professionals
- Careers fairs and mock interviews to support future planning
- Specialist workshops, such as STEM activities, safety awareness and skills development
These experiences help students to connect their learning to the wider world and develop important life skills.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
We are proud to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award, led by Mr Barnes.
The DofE Award is a nationally recognised programme that supports students to:
- Build confidence and resilience
- Develop teamwork and leadership skills
- Take part in volunteering and community work
- Complete physical and skills-based challenges
- Experience outdoor education through expeditions
Participation in DofE provides valuable experiences that contribute to students’ wider development and readiness for future education and employment.
